Motivated, personable birth professional with successful 21 year track record of serving birthing women and families throughout the perinatal year.  Masters degree in Maternal and Child Health Systems with a focus on Interprofessional Education.  Passionate about teaching in the clinical setting and delivering dignified, skilled care to medically misserved, underserved, and typically margenizled communities. Author of several birth and parenting articles, and co-author of The Essential Homebirth Guide (Simon and Schuster, 2012).  The first rule is “be kind” and let all the rest emerge from that space.

Diplomatic and tactful with professionals and families at all levels.  Accustomed to handling sensitive, confidential records.  Demonstrated history of political activism on behalf of parent rights and midwifery in Washington State: 2007, WAC to change language regarding installation of eye prophylaxis, 2011-2014, MAC/ MAWS CPM Challenge Process clarification and 2013-2015 MAWS legislative committee member.
