This semester long program is designed to hit three key areas of concern in the
development of females in the science, health care, and public health fields: 1)promotes change from within the community by empowering girls and
women to develop knowledge about the problems their community faces and
to generate solutions from within. 2) inoculates girls against the massive
college drop-out rate seen for girls who declare in any study of science through
creating a support system and intentional preparation 3)prepares girls to deliver
thoughtful, organized, impactful presentations that convey their knowledge
and passion in a professional way

Opened first free/medicaid based collaborative midwifery-led perinatal clinic with focus on serving local families of color and immigrant families. Dedicated to increasing job capacity within the communities we serve and creating safe learning space for
students of color to learn their profession. Collaborative integrated care with
physicians to serve needs of the whole family and high risk women during
pregnancy.

Bastyr University. Established first collaborative care agreement to offer

Clinical and hospital midwifery care for the perinatal year in the South Pacific,
worked 8-10 hrs per day, six days per week. Comprehensive prenatal and
postpartum care in hospital clinic. Managed normal and high risk births
including twins, VBACs, breeches, as well as managed many obstetric
emergencies requiring maternal and neonatal advanced life support skills.
Provided NBAS assessment and newborn care to NICU babies, provided NBO
sessions to new mothers and their families. Consulted with world authority
Dr. Nils Bergman and taught Kangaroo Mother Care to nursing staff and
mothers of premature and sick babies.
Taught antenatal, postpartum, care, and newborn assessment and care to
